Water filters filter contaminated wastewater. This is mostly used in the asbestos industry where cylindrical wire filters are placed in wastewater filtration systems (e.g. in a 3-stage water filter frame or in the filter pots of a decontamination unit). The capacity of the water filter depends on the surface area of the filter element and the particle size that a filter element passes through. A longer or coarser filter element increases capacity.
